Tim Andresen

Tim Andresen - Photo

Biography

Producer, remixer, DJ, party organizer and label owner, Tim Andresen has his fingers in many pies and his list of accolades is longer than your arm.

He is the founder of the highly acclaimed What Happens label and it’s now home to some of the finest talents in underground house music and a whole string of his own productions and remixes.

One to follow his dreams through equal parts of talent and hard work, Tim is an artist who enjoys the writing, production, engineering and arrangement of his own records. He recently boosted his production portfolio with signings to Savoir Faire Musique, Soulman Music, UM Records, Natural Rhythm, Seamless, Starlight Unlimited, Elevation Recordings and DeepWit. It seems a long time since he released on the UK’s longest running house label Azuli but also on Toolroom as one of the “Leaders of the new school” and Southern Fried as half part of Professional Losers being dubbed “the next big Danish housers” by IDJ.

For the last decade he has not only seen his name appear regularly in the charts but also had support from the who’s who of house music including underground luminaries like Steve Lawler, Maya Jane Coles, Dubfire, Nic Fanciulli, Laurent Garnier, Nick Warren and Hernan Cattaneo through to other long term legends like Pete Tong, Erick Morillo, Roger Sanchez and dancemusic’s biggest superstar Fatboy Slim whom he was also personally asked to remix (#1 UK Buzz Chart). Add to that he did compilation CDs while records sales were still something to talk about. He debuted with a CD showcasing the sound of his first major club project Flow. Then Ministry of Sound asked him to mix and compile volume 1 of Ministry Sessions. They described him “Denmark’s busiest house DJ” and that later led on to playing the international MoS tour.

These days see DJs come and go but Tim remains at the very frontline of the Scandinavian club scene.

Throughout his DJ career he has never stopped playing his trademark sound and never sold his soul to the latest trend in a desperate and disrespectful hunt for quick fame. As one of just a few DJs out of Denmark with truly international reach, he has taken his music to 35 different countries and far-flung destinations like Buenos Aires and Shanghai, as well as playing some of the finest clubs on the planet including the legendary terrace at Space Ibiza, Pacha Ibiza, the world’s biggest club Privelegé, Ministry Of Sound and Fabric that labeled him “Denmark’s finest export”. At home ground he is the main resident at the famous Culture Box, one of the most sought after positions for DJs in all of Denmark.

Month in month out, he plays next to the coolest and most profilic DJs on earth, helping to secure the club it’s unique position with worldwide recognition and 5 awards for Best Danish Club. He was also responsible for bringing Maya Jane Coles, Nic Fanciulli, Nick Curly, Shonky, Nick Warren, Joris Voorn and many more to the Danish capital. Before that he took care of his monthly Oven Ready night at Vega nightclub, rated one of the best club nights ever to take place in Copenhagen and described “one of the best Friday nights in the world” by Mark Knight. His long-spanning career include an endless list of other residencies and awards won for “Best DJ” at Club Awards and “Most Popular Nordic DJ” by Megamind. To sum it up, very few DJs can claim to have had a greater impact on their local club history than him.

Never one to rest on the laurels, Tim will continue to spread his sound far and wide. Wearing his many hats, he keeps pushing the scene forward.

James Braddock

James Braddock

Biography

James Braddock knew he had a calling for music ever since he was a child, although in the later years he could hardly find the time to invest in this passion.

The business life and the everyday rush kept him from developing in this beloved field. Come 2010, everything changed once he decided to change his life in the direction of embracing what his soul desired. Marco Carola’s sound determined him to become entirely devoted to electronic music, thus leaving the business life somewhere in the background. To me, Marco is one of the world’s most complete DJs and the passion he puts in what he does has gotten me to pursuit my own dream,” says James Braddock.
Toghether with Carola, Braddock appreciates the DJs making music based on rhythmical sounds, such as Luciano, Nina Kravitz, Steve Lawler, Richie Hawtin, Dubfire or Ricardo Vilalobos.

His passion for music takes up around three or four hours a day. „I’m not doing it because I have to, but because I feel like doing it; it’s a peaceful isolation, a total relaxation, a happy feeling that sometimes takes hold of me even up to six hours without perceiving how time passes,” James explains. Everything for music seems to be his new motto, because the DJ expresses his mood and brings out his feelings through music. Everyone who’s in love with electronic music understand this way of being, this way of feeling.

James…His name was inspired by a film character. His friends were calling him Braddock jokingly, but eventually the DJ chose to turn this nickname into a stage name. After intense training in turnatablism under Jimmy D’Azzaro’s guidance, James turned out to actually be talented and skillful.
He shortly managed to catch the eye and ear of electronic music-oriented venues. At the beginning of 2011, he took by storm these venues, mixing in clubs such as Zambara. The autumn of 2011 found James on the island of continuous partying – Ibiza, where he took a big bite of the afterhours vibe, performing at several parties.

Releases…As any respected continuity-aspiring DJ would, James Braddock felt the need to play his own music and this is how he started working in the studio, as a producer. In the summer of 2013 he finished his first EP, consisting of threee tech house songs. Many other EP’s are to come in the future.
